Developed from the IBAC\'s code of best practice, the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (ISBAO), Av8jet have developed their own proprietary Safety Management System (SMS) to Report, Track and Analysis risks. We can now track not only Hazards, but proactively make Risk Assessments on flights in advance to take appropriate action to mitigate risks and reduce those risks to as low as reasonably practical\".
A three legged jump starting with a seven hour twenty five minute trip to Muscat for a very quick and efficient fuel stop. The trip to Muscat takes us over the golden alps as the sun sinks behind us. Down over Turkey and then west of the border of Iran while at 41,000ft - 45,000ft, we are above any weather that may venture into Europe
At Muscat handled by a very helpful local man with a strangely limp hand shake who stands with us for the entire 45 minutes of our stay to make sure we have our every requirement. The use of the lounge for passengers is an option but our passengers preferred to stay with us, some stretching their legs walking around the plane and others continuing their beauty sleep.
MUSCAT to JAKARTA (8:05)
“Mumbai Mumbai”, probably the most commonly heard words on this entire trip. Simply due to so many people trying to get hold of ATC who are probably drinking strange flavored teas, with the cricket on in the background and one hand covered in delicious sauces, herbs and spices. Possibly stereotypical but sounds delicious.
Again we were lucky enough to have a completely storm free journey. Storms around here do venture up to the late 50’s early 60’s in thousands of feet. Blessed with very good and accurate weather radars, even these night flights are carried out with the least amount of stress possible.
Leaving Jakarta in the evening at a time ensuring a sensible and early start to the day in Australia, encountering the last of the daily tropical thunderstorms is not unheard of. With the use of the radars, avoidance is no issue. We are witness to St.Elmo’s fire. A fantastically beautiful phenomenon caused by static and friction producing a lightening effect on the windscreen.
JAKARTA - GOLD COAST (6:30)
Of course giving customs enough time to wake up and be in a good mood. The cross of Australia is simple and generally as great circle as possible.
Six and a half hours later, descending into the Gold Coast. the weather is beautiful, the sunrise, awakening and the trip is nearly over.
